Wololo does it again! He’s back with the latest and best hack on any PSP to date, minus the pandora ofcourse! This HBL Loader is released as a stable, so it has increased stability with loading homebrews whilst broadening the number the PSP can load.

Note to mention a flash new menu You know the drill, you need 6.20 firmware, Papaton 2 demo, the save game data exploit and of course HBL rev 93 Stable. You can grab them all below.

How to use the Half Byte homebrew loader:

Download and install the Patapon 2 demo to your MemoryStick or /Mass Memory (PSP Go)

Download the HBL Rev 93 release and copy the “hbl” directory and the “h.bin” file to memory root

Now copy the hacked save data folder UCUS98732_DATA02 to /PSP/SAVEDATA

Move any homebrew you want to play or try to the folder: /PSP/GAME

Start the Patapon 2 demo and load the hacked save game, then load your homebrew from the HBL menu

First off, let me just say “WHAT THE FUCK”! Seriously, this is the exact same fucking game that came out 3 years ago. Way to go Ruffian Games and Microsoft. You made the worst sequel to ever come out in the history of gaming. The game itself isn’t terrible, but its a repackaged game with a few new twists. Get ready to get pissed the fuck off.

Let me start with the graphics. SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT! I honestly feel like I could have shit out a better looking game. When was the last time the first game in a series looked better than a sequel. NEVER, unless it was on a stupid hand held. What the living FUCK Ruffian. Seriously what are you thinking. What the hell have you been doing the past 3 years, dicking around and frolicking? It honestly feels like they just sat around and milked the first Crackdown to death. Have you ever wanted to puke at a video game? Crackdown 2 will make you do that instantly.

Story
Again what the FUCK. You get a quick briefing at the beginning of the game that talks about saving the world from some dumb-ass zombies. ITS NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN THE REST OF THE MOTHER FUCKING GAME. Great job team! The robotic character that you control, who just so happens to look like Robocop on crack , is boring and you feel absolutely no connection to him. The only thing I truly liked about the story was the kick-ass announcer who would tell you that your kicking ass. Other than that its just SHIT.

Gameplay
Is it possible that I could possible be surprised by this? Nope, no fucking way. This is the exact same mother fucker from 3 years ago. They didn’t just shit out the graphics, but the shat out the same game. Sure, its still can be fun as hell but there is really nothing new except for guns and vehicles. There are actually some really cool vehicles, but then again there are some shit ones. Also there are some kick-ass mother fucking weapons but it still is the same game. The most fun I had playing this game was being the Orb Bitch. There are some challenging orbs to get and with each one you can upgrade your Robocop. It is quite addicting. But you are still being an Orb Bitch. How can collecting glowing shit be more fun than playing the actual game?
Dumb.

Multiplayer
Pretty much the same fucking thing. You can have 4 people fuck around at once, but other than that its as dumb as a retarded monkey. Its just shit. Really nothing different than the first one other than having 2 more Robocops.

The Verdict
If you want to play the exact same fucking game from 3 years ago, than this is you man. The only people I can recommend this game to are people who have never played Crackdown before. Save yourself 40$ and get the used or new copy of the original Crackdown

Rating
I give it

6.5 – Fucks out of 10

Other enhancements include the ability to rate purchased content on the PlayStation Store under a five-star scale system and additional power save options. PlayStation Plus, if you haven’t already heard, is a optional premium tier for PSN users. It adds several incentives on top of the base PSN offering, including early access to betas, bonus content, and free access to select PSN Plus sponsored titles. More deets can be found here.

Due out alongside the aforementioned PS3 firmware update is PSP firmware 6.30, which also adds PlayStation Plus compatibility. There’s also a vague mention of “other minor features” thrown into the mix. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see what surprises await.

So where does this leave geohotz’s cfw hack?

Unspecified “behind the scenes enhancements” that allegedly improve system performance are also promised, reiterating what numerous updates over the past year have touted. Enticing, right? It’s now been replaced with a new warning/shut down system to help protect your system. Read more after the link.

The red ring of death has been a much-feared bane on the Xbox 360′s existence, signaling complete and utter system failure. It became so problematic earlier in the console’s lifecycle that Microsoft doled out an extended warranty program to those affected. With the second generation slim Xbox 360, Microsoft forgoes the RRoD in favor of a dot outlined in red.

Once a sure-tell sign of failure, the red dot doesn’t exactly mean a unit has gone completely bonkers.Say, if there is insufficient cooling for instance, failsafe routines will kick in and spit out a warning message that notifies an unsuspecting user of a forced shutdown. How thoughtful.

Apparently a few coders now have access to a possible kernel exploit for newer PSP firmwares, two of which are coyotebean and Team Typhoon .Coyotebean revealed on the lan.st forums a few days ago that he (or she) already has a confirmed kernel key for the 6.20 PSPgo. It seems he has one for the 5.70 PSP go as well.

While kernel exploits like this invariably raise the community’s hopes for the release of a new custom firmware, coyotebean has so far said that “there will not be any ‘enabler’”.

Pretty much the only thing we can hope for right now is that one of the other teams with an exploit release their own HEN or CFW. The thing is, that may not even come to pass. Wagic coder Wololo explains:

There is an implicit agreement among hackers that these exploits should not be disclosed, because kernel exploits have become extremely rare since firmware 6.00 (it is believed a major cleanup of Sony’s code happened at that time to protect the psp go), so it is quite likely that these kernel exploits are actually one single exploit (so revealing it would ruin the efforts of other teams that try to keep it secret). Also, depending on the hacker, kernel exploits are kept secret for personal and/or ethical reasons .
